I’m Not Intoxicated, Just a Little Caffeinated

I love coffee. Since Ashley introduced me to all night raves, my love for coffee has reached a new level. It’s now a necessity.

I start thinking about my reunification with my takeaway coffee cup in the wee hours. I’m usually slow dancing with Ashley while singing “I’ll never break your heart” by the Backstreet Boys for the 20th time. By 6am, I visualise coming in contact with the plastic lid and taking a sip of the good stuff. I wonder if it would be an imposition if I asked the dog to watch Ashley for me while I quickly duck down to get my fix. I resist the temptation. After spending most of the night trying to get my baby to sleep, when she takes her morning nap, I’m hovering over the cot eagerly waiting for her to wake up so I can go and get my fix. The excitement hits me when she’s up. I pack her up in the car and we make the drive to my supplier.

I’m all pumped, I have her CD blaring in the car, we’re bopping along and belting out “wiggly woo, wiggly woo, let’s all do the wiggly woo!”. We’re on our way to happiness. As we pull up, there are other parents waiting for their fix. They are parked as close as they can to the window so they can make quick runs to and from the car.

I see the beam of light radiating from the window, I can smell the coffee. My supplier, Jason, spots me. He knows exactly how I like my coffee and hands over that little red and black cup of happiness.

I carefully balance my coffee with Ash, and I have a little moment to myself as I take my first sip in the car. It’s gonna be a good day.

Me and Yahava Cup

Being a bit of a coffee snob, I like to make sure that if I do have one, it has to be bloody good. And Jason makes a good quality coffee. I’m lucky enough that it’s up the road from where I work. Now that I’m on maternity leave, I will still make the trip up there.

I highly recommend the Yahava Mobile Espresso Bar. It’s open from 6am to 12pm Monday to Friday and located just by the roundabout at Whitfords Beach, on the corner of Whitfords Avenue and Northshore Drive. The experience will add a spring to your step and a twinkle in your eye.

There’s no better incentive to hop on over on Friday 13 February where the first 100 customers will get a free brew after 9:45am.
